It´s a reference to the beginning of Eternal Darkness, after trying to save/kidnap Banjo, the fat blue guy gets into a chamber, here there are three ancient artifacts (the Sonic team one, The Smash one, and the Rare one) he choses one to which he will devote his fandom, and choses the Smash one. At this point he sees the betrayal of the Stamper brothers and their switch to the Microsoft side and the lurking menace that B´Illga Tess its to the Nintenverse.
